Finikounda Beach

The Golden Beach of the Picturesque Fishing Village of Messinia

Finikounda Beach (central coast) is one of the most popular and beloved choices for summer holidays in the southern Peloponnese. It is located in the homonymous, beautiful settlement, ideally located between Methoni and Koroni (about 70 km southwest of Kalamata). Its vast coastline hugs the picturesque bay, offering a unique combination of cosmopolitan life, crystal clear waters and the authentic charm of an old fishing village.
  • Type of coast: Fine, golden sand stretches along the entire length of the coast and continues evenly into the seabed, without stones or rocks. The waters are crystal clear, transparent, have a wonderful blue-green color and deepen relatively smoothly, which consistently gives it the Blue Flag.
  • Suitable for: All types of visitors. It is an absolute paradise for families with children due to the soft sand and clear waters. It is equally preferred by groups, couples, and windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts, as the winds outside the protected bay are ideal for water sports.
  • Infrastructure: Excellently organized along its entire length. You will find numerous beach bars, cafes, umbrellas, sun loungers, showers and changing rooms. Just above, on the coastal promenade, there are excellent fish taverns and restaurants. At the same time, there are large free sections, while the area is famous for its organized, top-quality campsites.
  • Access: Very easy by road via the Methoni - Koroni network. As the beach extends right in front of the settlement, access to the sand is within a few seconds on foot from any point in the village. There are free parking spaces around the settlement and near the harbor.
