Zaga Beach is one of the most famous, large and impressive beaches of southern Messinia. It is located on the south side of Koroni, starting literally right under the imposing walls of the city's Venetian Castle. It is a huge, long, open sandy beach that essentially joins Memi Beach, forming a single, endless coastline of several kilometers facing the open sea.
- Type of beach: Fine, soft golden sand stretches from one end to the other on the coast and continues without stones in the seabed. The waters are crystal clear, crystal clear and deepen smoothly. As the beach is open, it is possible to get waves when southern winds blow.
- Suitable for: Ideal for all types of travelers. It is preferred by families for the endless play in the sand, groups and young people for the beach bars, as well as lovers of long seaside walks. In addition, the beach is an important nesting shelter for the Caretta-caretta sea turtle.
- Infrastructure: Extremely organized in many places with umbrellas, sun loungers, showers and changing rooms offered by the local beach bars, cafes and taverns in the area. Due to its enormous size, it also has vast free sections for those seeking absolute peace and solitude.
- Access: Very easy by car via the roads that descend from Koroni to the beach. There are free parking spaces along the road behind the coast. Alternatively, access can be made on foot through a picturesque path that descends directly from the Castle of Koroni.
