The Vast Exotic Sand Beach with Natural Sand Dunes
Golden Beach is one of the most impressive, famous and award-winning beaches in the entire Peloponnese. It is located in northwestern Ilia, in the area of Loutra Kyllini, approximately 13 kilometers south of the port of Kyllini and just 2.5 kilometers from the picturesque village of Arkoudi. Its name perfectly reflects reality, as it is an endless golden strip of land washed by the Ionian Sea and surrounded by a beautiful, protected forest of pines and eucalyptus.
- Type of beach: An endless, wide strip of extremely fine, golden sand that stretches for almost 5 kilometers, forming impressive natural dunes. The waters of the Ionian Sea are crystal clear, have enchanting turquoise hues and deepen extremely smoothly, while from the coast Zakynthos is clearly visible on the horizon. Due to its quality, the beach is consistently awarded a Blue Flag.
- Suitable for: An absolute paradise for families with young children, as the very shallow, warm and calm waters offer safety and the soft sand is ideal for playing. It is equally preferred by couples, groups, but also those who love water sports and long seaside walks.
- Infrastructure: The beach combines absolute luxury with pristine nature. In various parts of it, there are well-organized beach bars and infrastructures of the famous high-end resorts of the area, offering sunbeds, umbrellas, showers and changing rooms. At the same time, due to its enormous size, it has vast free and quiet sections for those who want to isolate themselves.
- Access: Very easy by car via the road network from Vartholomio or Killini Castle. The road crosses the magical forest and leads a few meters from the coast, where there is a comfortable and free parking space.
