The "Hidden Treasure" of Kyparissia Bay
Kato Samiko Beach is one of the most beautiful, vast and unexplored coasts of the entire western Peloponnese. It is located in the Municipality of Andritsaina - Krestena (Municipality of Skillountos), just 1 kilometer from the homonymous historical village, 8 kilometers northwest of Zacharo and approximately 20 kilometers from Pyrgos. It is a magnificent Ionian Sea coastline that combines an endless golden sand beach with a lush pine forest and important archaeological sites within walking distance.
- Type of coast: An endless, wide strip of fine, golden sand that stretches from end to end and continues evenly into the seabed, without stones. The waters are crystal clear, crystal clear and deepen extremely smoothly, making the sea very warm, shallow and safe.
- Suitable for: Families with young children due to the shallow waters, but also for lovers of sand sports. The beach is famous for its organized Beach Volley tournaments, while its geographical location also favors Windsurfing enthusiasts at times.
- Infrastructure: It perfectly combines comfort with isolation. In some parts of it, there are neat beach bars that offer umbrellas and sun loungers. However, because the coast extends over a huge length, most of it remains completely free and unorganized for those seeking absolute tranquility. In the village, there are traditional taverns with good food.
- Access: Very easy by car, as the beach is very close to the Pyrgos - Kyparissia National Road (25th km). The road is paved and leads to a large, comfortable and free parking area, a few meters away from the sand.
