Kato Achaia Beach is the central seaside front of the lively town of Kato Achaia (Achaia). It is located on the Gulf of Patras, just 2 kilometers from the city center and 24 kilometers southwest of Patras. The area combines a quiet seaside settlement with a large, extensive coastline of approximately 2 kilometers. It is an extremely popular destination for residents of the Achaean capital and the wider western Achaia who are looking for a comfortable and fully organized all-day excursion.
- Type of coast: An endless, wide coastline covered by fine golden sand outside, but also in the water, while in some places a little pebble appears. The waters are clear, turquoise and cool.
- Suitable for: Families with young children due to the soft sand and the safety it offers, groups of people, as well as people with mobility disabilities. The beach is fully accessible, as it has the innovative SEATRAC mechanism for autonomous access to the sea for disabled people.
- Infrastructure: Excellently organized. Along the coast there are modern beach bars and seaside cafes that offer sun loungers, umbrellas and showers. The beach is an ideal active spot, as it has courts for beach volleyball and beach basketball. In the wider area you will find traditional taverns, as well as quality beach hotels and villas.
- Access: Very easy and fast. It is approximately 25 minutes from the center of Patras. The journey is by road via the Patras - Pyrgos National Road, while it is also well served by the regular routes of the Intercity Bus of Achaia. There is ample and free parking right next to the sandy beach.
