Description
The Port of Monemvasia serves as the central maritime infrastructure hub—catering to transport, tourism, and fishing—for the world-renowned castle-town of Monemvasia and the entire Municipality of Monemvasia in southern Laconia. For the thousands of travelers and vacationers visiting the area to explore the historic Castle of Monemvasia or enjoy nearby beaches (such as Pori and Kakia Skala), as well as for owners of tourist and recreational vessels seeking a safe mooring spot in the southeastern Peloponnese, this facility offers direct access, protection, and a unique view of the imposing "Rock." The port is located in the new town of Monemvasia, in the Gefyra area, directly opposite the entrance to the castle-town.
