Agios Vasileios Beach

The Ultimate All-Day Hotspot of Patras for Swimming, Fun and Relaxation

Agios Vasileios Beach is one of the most cosmopolitan, lively and popular beaches in the entire Prefecture of Achaia. It is located on the Corinthian Gulf, in the seaside settlement of the same name, just 11 kilometers northeast of Patras (right after Rio and Aktaio). Agios Vasileios is the ultimate summer haven for the youth and residents of the Achaean capital. It combines exemplary clear waters with a wonderful coastal promenade that is bustling with life, offering countless all-day options that turn every visit into a complete entertainment experience.
  • Type of coast: An extensive and beautiful coastline covered mainly by fine pebbles and sand. Its waters are clean, cool and crystal clear. Along the coast there are scattered trees and tamarisks that offer beautiful corners of coolness.
  • Suitable for: Groups of young people and students due to the intense summer vibes, families looking for a quick and quality swim very close to the city, but also for people with mobility difficulties.
  • Infrastructure: Super-organized. Agios Vasilios is famous for some of the most popular all-day beach bars and cafes in the area, as well as for its excellent traditional fish taverns. It has umbrellas, sun loungers, showers, changing rooms, while it is one of the most accessible beaches as it has an installed SEATRAC system for autonomous access to the sea for people with disabilities. There are also well-maintained accommodations on the beachfront.
  • Access: Very easy, direct and with many alternative options. By road it is only 10-15 minutes from the center of Patras. Its greatest advantage is that it is served in an exemplary manner by the Patras Suburban Railway (with alighting at Agios Vasilios Station, which is just a 5-minute walk from the beach). Ample parking is available on the surrounding streets.
