Arkoudi Beach

The Picturesque and Cosmopolitan Bay of Northern Ilia

The Beach at Arkoudi is one of the most beautiful, sheltered and popular destinations in the entire western Peloponnese. It is nestled in front of the homonymous traditional settlement, a stone's throw from the famous Loutra Kyllini and the Castle of Chlemoutsi. Its trademark is the small, almost circular bay surrounded by rocks, offering a picturesque setting that combines a cosmopolitan aura with absolute protection from the winds.
  • Type of coast: A closed bay with fine, golden sand on the shore and along the entire length of the seabed, without stones. The waters of the Ionian Sea are crystal clear, have wonderful blue-green hues and gradually deepen, while the beach is consistently awarded a Blue Flag.
  • Suitable for: Families with young children due to the shallow waters and the absence of waves, as the bay is naturally protected. It is equally preferred by couples and groups who want to combine their swimming with cosmopolitan life and easy access to all amenities.
  • Infrastructure: Excellently organized. On the beach there are neat beach bars and cafes that offer umbrellas and sunbeds, while showers and changing rooms are available. Just above, in the picturesque alleys of the settlement, there are excellent traditional fish taverns, restaurants, cafes and numerous hotels or rooms to rent.
  • Access: Very easy by car via the road network from Gastouni or Kyllini. The road leads directly to the entrance of the settlement and the beach, where there is free parking very close to the shore.
