Bouka Beach
Description
The Endless and Organized Sandy Beach of Messina
Bouka Beach is one of the largest, most organized and popular beaches of the Messinian Gulf. A stone's throw from the city of Messina (about 5 km) and just 12 km west of Kalamata, its endless coastline combines the comfort of modern infrastructure with the beauty of a protected, natural landscape.
- Type of beach: Fine, golden sand along the entire length of the coast and also in the seabed. The waters are crystal clear, shallow in the first few meters and deepen very smoothly, which consistently gives it the Blue Flag.
- Suitable for: Families with young children, as the sand is ideal for playing and the waters are considered particularly safe. It is also preferred by those who love large beaches that are not overcrowded by the world, as well as by water sports enthusiasts.
- Infrastructure: Extremely well organized with beach bars, umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, changing rooms and a lifeguard. It has beach volleyball and beach soccer courts, as well as SEATRAC infrastructure for disabled access to the sea. At the same time, there are huge open areas for those who want absolute peace.
- Access: Very easy by road via the paved network that connects Messina to the beach. There is a comfortable, large and free parking area right behind the beach, while during the summer months there are also city bus routes.
