Boukas Beach is one of the most peaceful, picturesque and timeless summer destinations of West Aegialia in Achaia. It is located on the Corinthian Gulf, forming the coastal front of the settlement of Boukas of the Local Community of Kamares, approximately 11 kilometers northwest of Aegialia and 28 kilometers east of Patras. The great advantage of the area is the rich nature of orchards, olive groves and tall trees that surround the small seaside settlement, offering a completely peaceful, family and protected environment for relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the large tourist resorts.
- Type of coast: A passable and clean strip that combines fine pebbles with sand in its area. Its waters are crystal clear, clear and cool, typical of the Corinthian Gulf. The bay is quite closed and sheltered, offering safe and quality swimming even when winds blow in the wider area.
- Suitable for: Families, older vacationers and travelers seeking authenticity and tranquility. The area is traditionally famous for its relaxed and unpretentious character, as visitors can enjoy their swim with a wonderful, idyllic sunset in the background.
- Infrastructure: Satisfactorily organized, while maintaining its quiet profile. On parts of the coast, organized beach bars operate that offer umbrellas, sun loungers, coffee and cool drinks. In the wider area, there are traditional taverns and rooms to rent that serve summer residents.
- Access: Very easy, fast and direct. The journey from Patras takes approximately 25-30 minutes by car via the Old National Road Patras - Corinth (turning at Kamares). The beach is well connected to Aigio, while the wider area is served by the Intercity Bus of Achaia and the Suburban Railway (Kamares Station). There is ample free parking available.
