Daphnes Beach

The Busy Northern Destination of Patras with the Coastal Plane Forest

Dafnes Beach is one of the most popular, lively and timeless summer destinations of the urban and suburban front of Patras. It is located on the Gulf of Patras, in a privileged location in the northern part of the city, forming part of the coastal section of Bozaitika between Proastiou Beach and Kastellokambos, approximately 7 kilometers from the city center. The great advantage of the area is the impressive Plane Forest of Patras that grows at the mouth of the Charadros River, reaching almost to the sea and creating a cool, natural environment for relaxation and carefree moments.
  • Type of coast: A continuous, walkable strip that combines fine pebbles and gravel at the entrance with soft, golden sand in the rest of its area. Its waters are clear, typical of Patraikos, and the beach is "sinked" with people every day in the summer months, offering a unique sunset.
  • Suitable for: Families, youth, groups and residents looking for a quick daily dip without leaving the city. The area is traditionally famous for its walking character, as the combination of the coast with the adjacent Charadros Plane Forest offers excellent walks and recreation in nature.
  • Infrastructure: Satisfactorily organized, while maintaining a more free-spirited character. During the summer season, the beach is equipped with umbrellas, showers and a lifeguard tower, while there is also a small kiosk/canteen for snacks and refreshing drinks. In the wider area and on the surrounding streets there are seaside options for coffee, food and rental accommodation.
  • Access: Very easy, fast and direct. The journey from the center of Patras takes just 10-15 minutes by car. The biggest advantage is that the beach is served exemplarily by the Patras Suburban Railway (with alighting at Kastellokambos or Bozaitika Station), as well as by Urban Transport. At the end of the road there is a comfortable, free parking space.
