Eleonas Beach
Description
The Endless Blue Oasis of the Corinthian Gulf with the Largest Olive Grove
The Eleonas Beach (formerly known as Trypia Beach) is one of the most famous, idyllic and timeless summer destinations of Aegialeia in Achaia. It is located on the Corinthian Gulf, in a prime location next to Diakopto (just 6 kilometers west of it), about 12 kilometers east of Aigio and 50 kilometers from Patras. The great advantage of the area is the rich, green nature of the largest olive grove of Aegialia, with the olive trees reaching almost to the waves, creating a unique sense of tranquility that extends along one of the longest coastlines in the area, approximately 1.5 to 2 kilometers long.
- Type of coast: An endless, clean and beautiful strip that combines fine pebbles and small gravel at the entrance with soft sand in the rest of its area. Its waters are crystal clear, crystal clear and deep, offering refreshing swimming, while the beach is consistently awarded the international Blue Flag.
- Suitable for: Families, large groups and travelers looking for a destination with "two personalities". It is ideal for both those who prefer the comfort of a sunbed and those who want to spread their towel freely under the coveted shade of the tamarisks and musk oaks.
- Infrastructure: Extremely organized. The beach has umbrellas, sunbeds, beach bars, showers, changing cabins, a lifeguard tower, as well as a playground. It also has a beach volleyball court where tournaments are organized in the summer, as well as the special electric mechanism SEATRAC (SeaAccess) for autonomous access to the sea for people with disabilities. Along the coastal road, there are extremely picturesque taverns and restaurants (such as Rigopoulos) that serve seafood on the waves, as well as quality tourist accommodation units.
- Access: Very easy, fast and direct. The journey from Athens takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours (166-175 km) via Olympia Odos, while from Patras the distance is covered in less than 45-50 minutes by car. The biggest advantage is that the beach is served by the Suburban Railway (Elaiona Station) and local transport. At the end of the road, there is a large, comfortable free parking area.
