Gnospi Beach
Description
The Hidden Natural "Swimming Pool" of Messinian Mani
Gnospi Beach is an unknown corner of Messinian Mani, ideal for those who want to live an authentic and alternative experience. It is hidden a short distance from the picturesque settlement of Agios Nikolaos. It is a small, protected bay of wild beauty, where steep cliffs embrace the sea.
- Type of coast: There is no classic sandy beach. Access to the water is from smooth, flat rocky platforms with the help of metal ladders. The waters are deep, crystal clear and have a captivating blue-green color.
- Suitable for: Adventure lovers, diving and isolation. It is considered a top destination for snorkeling, as there are small sea caves to explore at the site. It is not recommended for young children due to the lack of a shallow shore.
- Infrastructure: 100% unorganized. It does not have natural shade or umbrellas. At the edge of the rocks dominates the picturesque, stone chapel of Metamorfosi tou Sotiros, while for supplies and food the neighboring Agios Nikolaos serves.
- Access: Very easy. It is only 500 meters south of the port of Agios Nikolaos. You park your car freely on the side of the road and go down some stone steps.
