Corinth, the modern and dynamic capital of Corinth, is a historic seaside city that is the vibrant gateway to the Peloponnese, built in a strategic location on the isthmus that connects Central Greece with the Morea. The city, which was rebuilt with excellent street planning after the devastating earthquake of 1858, uniquely combines a cosmopolitan atmosphere with its heavy archaeological heritage, which is reflected in the nearby, world-famous Archaeological Site of Ancient Corinth with the imposing Temple of Apollo and the landscape crowned by the castle of Acrocorinth. Today, Corinth offers wide pedestrian streets, picturesque squares with fountains, a rich market and a vibrant daily life in the port, while its strategic location next to the Corinth Canal offers easy access to Loutraki, the important archaeological sites of Nemea and Mycenae, as well as some of the most beautiful coasts of the Saronic and Corinthian gulfs.
- Type of coast: An extensive, organized coastline where the coast is mostly covered by fine pebbles, while the seabed is sandy, shallow and extremely clear. The trademark of the beach are the numerous tamarisk trees that offer natural coolness, while the coast is consistently awarded the Blue Flag for the excellent quality of its waters.
- Suitable for: Families with small children due to the shallow and safe waters, groups of young people, but also travelers looking for an all-in-one summer experience without having to leave the comforts of the city.
- Infrastructure: Super-organized. Along the coastal promenade there are dozens of beach bars, cafes, traditional fish taverns, grills and all-day restaurants. The beach has umbrellas, sun loungers, brand new changing rooms, showers, as well as organization by a lifeguard team that makes it one of the safest in Corinth. There are neat accommodations nearby.
- Access: Very easy, direct and very fast, as it is less than an hour from the center of Athens. Access is by road via the Athens - Corinth National Road, while it is served exemplarily by the Suburban Railway (Corinth Station). Ample parking is available right next to the beach.
