The Calm and Exotic Alternative to Elafonisos
Kato Nisi Beach (also known as Panagia Beach) stretches for 1,200 meters on the western side of Elafonisos. It is an earthly paradise with rare sand dunes and a dense forest of sea cedar. It owes its name to the picturesque church of Panagia Katonisiotissa that dominates high on the hill.
- Type of beach: Endless, velvety golden and white sand. The waters are transparent, crystal clear and deep, with impressive turquoise hues. It is surrounded by four beautiful islets (Kasela, Prasonisi, Lefto Nisi and Xeropoules).
- Suitable for: Families, couples and those who want to avoid the crowds of Simos. Ideal for snorkeling, as you can easily swim to the opposite rocky islets.
- Infrastructure: It has organized beach bars with umbrellas, sunbeds and showers. At the same time, it offers rooms to rent in the settlement, but also a huge free space for your own equipment under the shade of the cedars.
- Access: Very easy by road via an asphalt road (about 3.5 km from the port). The road passes right next to the coast, offering plenty of and comfortable parking space.
