The "Next to the Village" Beach of Elafonisos
Kontogoni Beach is the main and liveliest beach in the central settlement of Elafonisos. It extends west of the iconic church of Agios Spyridon and offers visitors the unique convenience of enjoying a wonderful sea literally a few steps away from the island's shops.
- Type of beach: Stunning fine golden sand with crystal clear, shallow, crystal blue-green waters.
- Suitable for: Ideal for families with young children due to the shallow waters. Also, for a quick dip early in the morning or late in the afternoon without the need for a vehicle.
- Infrastructure: Organized in sections with umbrellas, sun loungers, and tables from the seaside shops. Along its length there are rooms to rent, cafes, and fish taverns.
- Access: Very easy, as it is located in the village and is a few meters away on foot from the port
