Longos Beach
Description
The Cosmopolitan and Green Destination of the Corinthian Gulf with Crystal Clear Waters
Longos Beach (directly connected to the Selianitika beachfront) is one of the most popular, cosmopolitan and timeless summer destinations of Aegialia in Achaia. It is located on the Corinthian Gulf, in a privileged location immediately after Selianitika, approximately 7 kilometers northwest of Aigio and 30 kilometers from Patras. The great advantage of the area is the rich nature with tall trees, citrus trees and olive groves that embrace the settlement, combined with the fact that the main road passes far from the coast, offering a completely quiet, safe and picturesque environment for relaxation by the sea.
- Type of coast: A beautiful, narrow strip characterized by fine, clean pebbles and crystal clear, cool waters. Due to its geographical location in the Corinthian Gulf, the sea is usually very calm, making it ideal for quality swimming.
- Suitable for: Families, cosmopolitan travelers and vacationers looking for a combination of picturesqueness and intense summer life. The area is traditionally famous for its gastronomic character, as along the coastal paved pedestrian street there are excellent fish taverns and restaurants on the waves.
- Infrastructure: Extremely organized, with a remarkable tourist infrastructure. On the coast you will find sun loungers, umbrellas, showers, as well as elegant beach bars and cafes. The wider area is dominated by large, branded hotel complexes, rental apartment complexes and all kinds of tourist facilities.
- Access: Very easy, fast and direct. The journey from Athens takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours (185 kilometers), while from Patras the distance is covered in approximately 25-30 minutes by car via the New National Road (Selianitika/Longos exit). The area is served exemplarily by the Intercity Bus Service of Achaia, while the coastal settlement is suitable for walking, as it has beautiful paved streets.
