The "Exotic Paradise" of the Corinthian Gulf with the Twin Shore
Mylokopi Beach is one of the most impressive, wild and exotic hidden gems of the entire Peloponnese. It is located in the Corinthian Gulf, very close to Lake Vouliagmeni and north of Loutraki. It is a "twin" beach, which was created by an ancient earthquake. It is completely isolated within a dense pine forest of the Geranium Mountains, offering a unique setting with turquoise, transparent waters that strongly resemble an Ionian island.
- Type of coast: It is separated by a narrow strip of land into two separate coasts. Mikri Mylokopi has fine, dark golden sand, while Megali Mylokopi is characterized by impressive, white, rifted slabs and rocks. The waters are crystal clear, deep and turquoise.
- Suitable for: Wildlife lovers, free campers, couples and adventurous travelers. It is a top destination for free divers and snorkelers due to its rich seabed and impressive underwater reefs.
- Infrastructure: Completely inactive and unorganized. There are no umbrellas, sun loungers, beach bars or canteens. It is absolutely necessary to bring water, food and your own umbrella with you. The natural shade from the pine trees that reach the waves offers shelter from the sun.
- Access: Special and demanding, about 1.5 hours from Athens. The road leading to the beach after Perachora is a very difficult, steep dirt road. Access is exclusively by 4x4 vehicle. Alternatively, you can leave the conventional car up high and walk the forest path for about 30-45 minutes.
