Skafidia Beach is one of the most impressive, sheltered and "photogenic" beaches in the entire western Peloponnese. It is nestled in a small, protected bay of exceptional natural beauty, very close to the homonymous village and the historic Monastery of Panagia Skafidiotissa. It is a destination that stands out for its tropical feel, golden sand and intense summer life, as some of the largest and most luxurious hotel resorts in Greece operate in the area.
- Type of beach: A closed, sheltered cove covered in fine, velvety golden sand on the shore and along the entire length of the seabed, without stones. The waters of the Ionian Sea at this point are crystal clear, shallow, have impressive turquoise and blue-green hues and are almost always calm like a swimming pool.
- Suitable for: Families with young children due to the very shallow waters and the absence of waves, couples looking for an idyllic setting, but also for snorkeling enthusiasts, as the rocks at the edges of the bay hide interesting marine life.
- Infrastructure: Excellently organized. The beach has neat beach bars offering umbrellas, sun loungers, showers, changing rooms and cool cocktails. The coast borders the high-end facilities of large resorts, while within walking distance there are traditional taverns with excellent food. Due to its small size, it fills up quickly during peak months.
- Access: Very easy by car via the provincial network from Pyrgos or Katakolo. The road is paved and leads right behind the beach, where there is free parking, making access to the sand a matter of seconds.
