The Endless and Traditional Beach at the "Door" of Pyrgos
Spiantza Beach is one of the most historic, extensive and familiar coastlines of Ilia. It is located a stone's throw from Pyrgos, having historically been the main vacation spot for the residents of the prefecture's capital. It is a part of the huge, single sandy zone of the Kyparissia Gulf washed by the Ionian Sea, combining the vast freedom of the landscape with the authentic atmosphere of a lively summer settlement.
- Type of coast: An endless, wide strip of fine, golden sand that stretches from one end to the other on the coast and continues without stones into the seabed. The waters of the Ionian Sea are crystal clear, open and deepen smoothly, offering a wonderful feeling of coolness.
- Suitable for: Families, groups, but also those who love long seaside walks and games in the sand (racquetball, beach volleyball), as the space is literally endless. Due to its location in the open sea, it is also ideal for those who enjoy swimming with waves.
- Infrastructure: The beach largely retains its free and traditional character. It has some organized areas with umbrellas, sun loungers and beach bars, but most of it remains unorganized, ideal for setting up your own umbrella. The settlement has traditional taverns, mini markets and cafes.
- Access: Very easy and direct. Access from Pyrgos is within a few minutes by car, via a straight asphalt road. There is ample free parking on the parallel roads of the settlement, just behind the sandy beach.
