Tigania Beach

The Largest and Liveliest Beach in Monemvasia

Tigania Beach is located south of the picturesque cove of Elaia and is the largest beach in the wider area. With the Blue Flag proudly waving on the shore, the beach extends for 420 meters and is divided into two different "zones".
  • Type of beach: Sandy beach with intervals of fine pebbles and rocks at the edges. It has crystal clear, crystal clear waters, while on the south side underground freshwater springs (vlychades) gush out that offer a unique feeling of coolness.
  • Suitable for: The north side is ideal for families with young children, as the waters are warmer and deepen very smoothly. The south side is a favorite destination for young people, while the rocks are suitable for snorkeling.
  • Infrastructure: Fully organized with a beach bar, umbrellas, sun loungers, showers, changing cabins, WC and a beach volleyball court. There is a traditional tavern on the coast with a panoramic view, while the landscape is decorated with tamarisks, reed beds and a small stream.
  • Access: Very easy by road via the Elia - Asopos axis (about 2 km from Elia). There is visible signage from the road and comfortable, free parking spaces next to the sand.
