The Sheltered Haven of Porto Helios with a Pirate History
Ververonda Beach is one of the most recognizable and beloved seaside spots in Argolida, within the boundaries of the Municipality of Ermionida. Nestled in a huge, enclosed bay adjacent to the homonymous lagoon, the beach enchants the visitor. It owes its name to the Berber pirates who used it as a hideout.
- Type of coast: Ideal combination of fine sand, fine white pebbles and smooth stones. The waters are crystal clear, crystal clear and permanently sheltered (like a mirror), as the bay is completely protected from the winds.
- Suitable for: Families with young children, toddlers and the elderly due to the complete absence of waves and the safe sea. A top destination for water skiing thanks to the calm waters, as well as for free snorkeling.
- Infrastructure: Excellently organized with modern beach bars, umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, changing rooms and a lifeguard. Traditional taverns and luxury hotels operate along the coast, while plenty of free space with natural shade from tamarisk trees is offered.
- Access: Very easy by road via an asphalt road (just 3 km from the center in Porto Heli). The road ends next to the sand, offering a huge and free parking area.
