Western Submersible Bridge of the Corinth Canal
Description
The Western Submersible Bridge of the Isthmus (known worldwide as the Poseidonia Submersible Bridge) is one of the most impressive and popular engineering and tourist attractions for the cosmopolitan resort town of Loutraki and the entire Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi. For the thousands of travelers visiting the area to admire the unique feat of the Corinth Canal—including the bridge that "disappears" to the canal bed to allow ship passage and the remains of the ancient Diolkos—or simply to travel quickly toward Corinth, this infrastructure offers a rare visual experience and a vital transport link. The bridge is located on the side facing the Corinthian Gulf.
