Episkopi

Episkopi Tegea, one of the most historically and culturally rich settlements of lowland Arcadia, is a small, traditional village of the Municipality of Tripoli built in the heart of the fertile Tegea plain at an altitude of 697 meters, which rightly attracts global interest due to its invaluable archaeological and religious value. A landmark of the area is the magnificent Byzantine Church of Episkopi Tegea (dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary), which is built in a unique way right on the hollow of the ancient theater of Tegea, while the area was the seat of the historic medieval city of Nikli.
