Pounta

Pounta, Laconia, is a small seaside settlement and a key hub in the Vatika region, known worldwide primarily as the main gateway connecting the Peloponnese mainland to Elafonisos. Ferries depart daily from its picturesque small port, transporting hundreds of travelers to the island opposite in just a few minutes. Despite its bustling nature as a travel destination during the summer months, Pounta retains the authentic, tranquil atmosphere of a traditional Laconian locale; surrounded by a rare ecosystem of sea cedars, it falls administratively under the Municipality of Elafonisos.
