Filiatra, one of the largest and most vibrant towns in western Messinia, is a blessed place built on a fertile plain with vast olive groves and modern agricultural crops that offers a unique, cosmopolitan personality. Known worldwide for its special attractions, Filiatra rightly bears the title of the "Little Paris" of the Peloponnese, as the entrance to the city is dominated by the emblematic replica of the Eiffel Tower, while the central square is distinguished by the ornate, 19th-century Venetian fountain.
